The Institute of Semiconductor Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (ISP NASU) was established in 1960.

In 1999, the Technological Park of Semiconductor Technologies and Materials, Optical Electronics and Sensor Techniques was created on the basis of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics following the initiative of the President of Ukraine. Investment and innovation activity of the Technological Park is regulated by the Law of Ukraine «On special regime of investment and innovation activity of technological parks» #991-XIV dated July 16, 1999.

Among the major information technologies developed there is a technology of manufacturing optical master-disk for direct mastering of CDs. This technology is based on non-organic lithography method allows to fabricate relief microstructure elements with dimensions of 0.2 - 0.3 micrometers and stamp CDs using non-organic photoresist layers.

The application of the non-organic lithography technology allows to:
- reduce the time needed to fabricate the stamps to one-third;
- fabricate stamps for copying all types of compact disks (CD, DVD).
