School of Volokhiv Yar was found in 1924 as elementary one. Some time later it was reorganized into seven-year school and then it was known as secondary school.

In 2001 the educational institution became an educational-bringing complex of Volokhiv Yar – the first establishment of the type in the region.

The educational complex gives preschool (preschool group (of different age) and secondary education with optional studies in one-set upper secondary school (the social-humanities and natural-mathematics studies).
