The Planetarium was opened in 1957. Since 1961 It has been known as Planetarium named after Y.A. Gagarin. The "Star Hall" of the planitarium can boast the first computer-operated device enabling to observe astronomical phenomena viewed from the Earth, Moon or other Planets.
The staff working at the planetarium delivers lectures on more than 200 topics.
