The Kyiv Motorcycle Plant was founded in 1945 on the basis of the tank repair workshops.

The production of heavy motorcycles by the Kyiv Motorcycle Plant was started in 1952 when the first lot of M-72 motorcycles was made.

Presently OJSC "Kyiv Motorcycle Plant " produces two modifications of motorcycles with sidecar: Dnlpro-11 and Dnipro-16, two modifications of motorcycle without sidecar: Dnipro-Solo and Dnipro-Chopper, one type of three-wheeled, three-track cargo motorcycle Dnipro-300, mototrailer Dnipro-600 and patrol motorcycle Dnipro-955. The plant also makes heating convectors, safes and other consumer goods.

The motorcycles manufactured by the plant are famous for their extraordinary passability in any conditions, their service simplicity, safety and durability.
