"Slovo Prosvity" Cultural Educational Weekly of the Ukrainian Society "Prosvita" got popularity among Ukrainian intelligentsia as single Ukrainian edition that steadily propagandizes the Ukrainian national idea on the example of activity of Public Organization "Prosvita" and its 140-years history. In fact the "Prosvita" is not for nothing named the mother of Ukrainian public organizations: it born many national-patriotic associations of the past and today. In addition, the weekly reports on problems of spirituality and culture, publishes materials for becoming nationality of Ukrainian, opens pages of Ukrainian history to the readers hidden by the totalitarian system, in particular repressions and Holodomor, assists to development of national-democratic tendencies in modern Ukrainian society. The initiator of creation of the magazine and its editor during fifteen years is writer, Laureate of the National Prize named after Taras Shevchenko Lyubov Golota.
The collective of the editorial staff and authors of the newspaper work for the sake of distribution of good works of democratic organizations and public movements, popularize the names and works of citizens of Ukraine - the prominent figures in strengthening of our independence.
